Cowbell 3-D Exxxtravaganza

I hate Christmas and the whole concept of Christmas, but there are a few things I look forward to come holiday time. One is the White Cowbell holiday show. Always a risque, fun show. Those guys always put a little exxxtra in for the holiday shows. Fun time last night. Luckily, I avoided Santa's love juice.

Misfits were awesome! At Fiendfest. Uk Subs were awesome, Osaka Popstar was ok, and The Adicts were fuckin great. I like a new punk band and they're called The Adicts. They outshined The Misfits. That takes alot. The Adicts are friggin cool. I had heard of The Adicts before, but I had never heard them. I've heard them now, and I'm happy. Wish I took some pictures of The Adicts, but I was too busy being blown away. So here is a picture of The Misfits instead.

Wheelssssssss on Fire

It's been a great week in Shaneworld. Had my teaching evaluation...which all new teachers must go through. It went very well, and my Principle gave me the ceremonious pat on the shoulder and told me I was a good boy. No more
evaluations for 5 years. Then I went and did something very unlike me... I joined the school teacher volleyball team. I hate volleyball. But I decided to be social for once in my life. Our team actually won. With me on it. Go figure. I have to do this every Wednesday. On a much more exciting note, I saw Frank Black on Thursday, and he was amazing, as expected. I was in front and he stood directly above me... like 2 feet away. He did an acoustic version of Velouria, and it was pretty much an OK, I CAN DIE NOW moment. But it got better. During Sing For
Joy, which I knew he would close with (having checked the setlist for the
previous night in Montreal) I grabbed a copy of the setlist and decided to
duck out of the venue and waitfor him to leave the backstage door
(fanboy that I am). Wouldn't you know it, the man who penned Wave of
Mutilation signed my Fastman cd, and my Pixies Toronto live CD. I was
pretty much speechless as he signed it, and he was very quiet as well
(seemed he really wanted to get to the bus and out of the chill). But he
graciously signed my shit, and I went to bed with a smile. Frank rules.
He played a song called Gyanshwar, which is rumoured to be a new
Pixies track. Sounded pretty cool. The only uncool thing of the night
was the no camera policy, which sucks because I would have gotten some
great pics. Ah well. How can I complain?
Anyhyew, it's close to Halloween and I gotta get a costume tomorrow.
For my classroom party. I'm thinking perhaps Count Frightenstein.
You can't beat House of Frightenstein. I was thinking maybe Igor, but
I'm not that fat. Yet.

Goddam!!! It's been a long time since I saw a good live show! I've been suffering major withdrawal symptoms. Saw Covenant last night and shook my booty. Pretty much a perfect, fun show at the Opera House last night....just wish it
was louder, and I wish the goth chick beside me wasn't thrashing me with her fake plastic hair. Was up front against the stage, and Eskil rocked the mic in a slick shirt & tie. I found out that Dead Stars is without a doubt my favourite song
to dance to ever. Covenant took over where Depeche Mode left off, and thats fine with me.

Carrying the torch

Well, it's been a while since I posted. What is new? Pretty much
everything. New apartment, new job, new designer shoes, and
a new toothbrush. And I love them all. Maybe life isn't so bad.

Not sure why I bother blogging....noone reads this, and blogging
is now as trendy as hoola hoops. K, maybe hoola hoops aren't
trendy anymore. But I guess blogging is like a hoola hoop in
respect to the fact that lots of people have them, and if you
are an avid 'hooper', noone cares. I guess I write to arrange
my thoughts? I can't afford a Psychiatrist...and nowadays
they're all booked by celebrities anyway.

Man I love my new school, and new living arrangement.
I now live in a mainly Jewish community off Bathurst,
and my class is made up of mostly Jewish kids. And they
are good, well behaved students. What a difference. I've
lived through 4 years of mostly classroom management
with difficult children. I breathe mainly sighs of relief
these days.

Today I marked homework, and took time out to go
jogging and watch Jackass. There are few comedies
that make my chest hurt from laughing, and Jackass is
one of them. It's a guilty pleasure, watching a bunch
of grown-up stoners do what they do best, but a pleasure
nonetheless. I'm anxious for Number Two to come out
later this month.

Well the end of the summer is depressing, I guess...but
I suppose the summer wasn't all that exciting. I taught
summer school for half of it, and prepared my class for
the other half. There weren't really any good concerts
this summer...I suppose if I were a poser punk I'd go
to the Warped thing, but any feelings of sketchy
melodromatic anarchy I may have had were quelled
very long ago. Don't get me wrong now...I'm not
happy with the world, but I won't show my disdain
by attending an Offspring show.

Covenant and Frank Black play next month though.
That is very exciting. More exciting than this blog
entry, for certain.

Shine On

The diamond only shines brighter.

A recluse on a higher scale than even myself.

The grand forefather of Psyche rock, and the music industry's greatest enigma.

NXNE Weekend!!!

Wow! What an exciting 3 days. I'm knackered. My cousin and the boys from Sue Is Fine were in town too. They played the NXNE fest on Friday at Neutral. Fun times. Saw lots of Thunder Bay people at the Sue show. Thursday was Ministry, and I got front and centre. Bodies flying everywhere. Revolting Cocks were funny, and Ministry tore the place apart. I managed to dodge the boots of the crowd surfers. I just got back from the Buzzcocks show. Holy shit, I can say that I've seen the Buzzcocks live. That's a story for the children I'll never have. Anyways, good times.....next week it's the Pink Dots, D.O.A., and White Cowbell. Toronto sure is fun in the summer. K, over and out.

Terror and Hockey, supreme in Canada!

Major terror org. bust in Toronto yesterday. An article in the Sun
reports that authorities had been keeping surveilance on a couple
terrorist camps - one located just outside of Thunder Bay!

Jihad on TBay! That would be sure to get the world's attention!

Perhaps they could lay some IED's in the Hoito. Maybe pull
down the Terry Fox statue ala the Hussein monument?
I don't think anyone would care if they bombed Armani's.

On the other hand, perhaps this report on terrorist camps is
a government ruse. With Bush's leash firmly clasped around
Harper's fat neck, these reports could just be part of
fearnomics.

Bin Laden in Nanavut?

Bad Day

Man I'm a friggin wreck today. Muggy weather and crazier kids.
Long day with a staff meeting to end it off. I'm tired and a
bit depressed. I'm drinking wine and listening to a replay of
Howard Stern to make myself happier. If it weren't for laughing,
I'd just give it up. Laughing and music. The only two things that
count. I mean I love my job, but it takes too much of the day.
I think I need to go to a spa or something. Perhaps a massage?
I dunno. To top things off, two Canadian hockey teams were
knocked off this week....bye Habs, bye Flames. Looks like I'm
an Oilers fan now. I will never cheer for fuckin Ottawa. Ottawa
sucks. Don't like the city, don't like the team. Go Oilers, Go
Buffalo.
Go Shane.

Gonna get Radiohead tickets this weekend...maybe that will make
me happier.

I suppose this blog needs my face on it. Here is a pic of me and JR Digs at the Toronto film fest. In the background you can see the face of aspiring local director Chris Nash. If you get a chance to see his 'Day of John', run don't walk. 'Day of John' is funny as hell. JR plays a mailman that summons demons. Awesome.

Ello Ello. Well, the blog has been up for over a month now and I've not heard one reply about it. Heartwarming. I'm talking to myself. My aspirations of being a huge loser are coming true! Radical!!!!!

Anyways, I saw Ladytron last night and they were amazing as usual. This was Ladytron show #4 for me. The other shows I saw were in London. Mira and Helen are still hot. I'm very much in love with Helen. I want to give her a bag of diamonds and tell her how much she means to me. I want to buy her a car and put wings on it, so that we could fly to Paris and make out. She was very hot in her gothy black dress. I once hugged Mira...and it was awesome...but I wished it was Helen. Sigh.

Jello's bellows

Well, I've just returned from an awesome and inspiring spoken-word show by Mr. Jello Biafra - former lead singer of the now-shamed and exploited Dead Kennedys. This is a man that I've always dreamt of seeing live in some form or other. The Bush administration, Stephen Harper, Schwartzenegger, New Orleans......he wasn't short on stuff to talk about - and it went for over 3 hours. Afterward, he was nice enough to sign my Jelvins LP. Oh yes, and the Leafs killed the Sens tonight. But unfortunately, Tampa Bay has made sure that we're not in the playoffs. And my night was going so perfectly...

Doprah Winfrey

You're so goddamned rich.
To me, you are a walking Starbucks.
You're fat, you're all over the place, and we all know you shouldn't be here.
Just like Starbucks.
You coast on the admiration of weak, fat white people...
but I think you're a little "kill whitey."
Your shiny too-white teeth shine out at me at the supermarket.
Seniors buy the magazines to help them forget that they're gonna die
You got pissed at the writer guy for fabricating his novel.
But your face is plastered all over rags that sell lies.
Compared to you, Ellen DeGeneres is highly amusing.....and attractive.
That's saying alot, ma'am. Yes indeedy.
I would sooner get aids having sex with sandpaper,
than watch your miserable show.
I would say 'blow me', but I really don't want that.

SogArt #1

Hey, I don't always have stuff to write, ok. So I will post my art sometimes.

This is a picture of a Mr. T shark trying to eat Trent Reznor. I hate Trent.

Welcome to tha sog!

Just got back from work and decided to move from shitty Livejournal to
good ol' trendyass blogland USA. Just got home after eating a fantastic
meal of mussels with some co-workers. Now I'm listening to the Floyd
and wasting time on a worthless blog that no one and their sister will
read.

I've nothing else to say right now, so I will go ahead and press "publish
post" so we're off on our hopefully short journey to nerdland.
